The last few days has been a whirlwind of excitement all round. Starting with my interview with vegan enthusiast Julie Shah Lamba from Food Sense (Read how I accidentally became a vegetarian at 15, and why I’m never going back! See my interview). Julie also shares her personal story of how going vegan was the only thing that cleared her chronic congested skin. Food Sense is a vibrant and fresh site offering recipes and more, and I can’t wait to see what else Julie gets up to!
While it was great to collaborate with another foodie, nothing could beat seeing a long-time friend walk down the aisle to be lawfully and lovingly wedded to her best friend. Amber is one of the most creative and practical people I know. Amber poured herself into the planning of her wedding, and when you see the photos you’ll have an idea of what Amber is all about. (She also makes babies clothes and they’re gorgeous! Check out her FB page.)
While my photos don’t do the day justice, here’s a look anyway! The official photographers were Dom and Heath from Dec Creatives (Just a little shout out – their work is amazing!)
The cake? Yes, I know, it’s incredible isn’t it?! Created by Christia Wilcocks, not only a mum, wife, civil engineer, but also an incredibly talented cake maker. Christia and my hubby have known each other since they were kids in South Africa, and I’ve gotten to know this incredibly vibrant and fun woman in the last few years (starting in New Zealand, and now in Brisbane, Australia).
Seeing as the wedding and reception were in the beautiful Eureka, and Byron Bay, how could we not stay the night and have a sunny Monday to ourselves? Well, that’s what we did. The plan was to blissfully float in the gorgeous swells at Byron’s main beach (to recreate some happy memories), although sunny, it was cold. Far too cold for my ever-increasing wussy self to spend enough time in the water to justify being covered in salt and sand for the 2hr drive back to Brisbane that awaited us. I loved being there nonetheless.
Being back home does bring back everyday normalities such as; laundry, the sound of traffic and my own bed. But amid the everydayness, I did find some tomatoes for sale for 29 cents a kilo! (The dehydrator is already on, along with some apples and capsicum.)
Once again, congratulations to Clint and Amber – a match made in heaven! God bless you always. x
